I took this picture on my way to church this morning just before 8 am Arizona time. Yes, that is the moon still high in the sky over the landscape. To be fair that is Nevada and not Arizona so it was only 7 am there. I took the picture from Arizona and zoomed in a little so then I wouldn't get the city in the picture.

It was an eventful day. Today was the 100th day of school and I got a shirt because I didn't miss any days. Then rushing through the day to get home early so I could go up to Vegas to pick up Ashley's fiance. On the way there we saw a pickup truck pulled over by 3 police cars with 6 guys sitting on the side of the road... another crack down on illegal immigrants. Then we hit up 2 stores in 30 minutes. Finally we acquired her English man from the airport.

This is a beach blanket I've been working on for a long time. I'm going to knit an I-cord to draw through the eyelets so it will be a bag too. It's a really cool pattern! And yes, my yarn was not all from the same dye lot.

The Plastic Bag Debate

So I'm standing there explaining to the guy at check out why I do not want a plastic bag for my picture frames. I bring my own anyway, but I didn't bring quite enough this time. I told him they are just clutter, so he told me to throw it away. So I told him that plastic doesn't decompose and chances are that it will just end up blowing in the wind adding to the garbage floating around. Then he was trying to say something about them being made out of sand and not oil. I just looked it up and Wikipedia says that they are made from natural gas. Who would have thought that a run to Kohls would stir such a debate?

I went to a Baptist Church today because a friend asked me to go and Ashley decided that she wanted to go with me. I've been trying to get Ashley to go to ANY church since her falling out with the Methodist church (she started it). I know that I am way too Catholic to go to other churches, but I went anyway.

Ashley got a cookie calendar today and we tried to make one of the recipes (ie, she baked them and I stayed out the way). They didn't turn out to be the best cookies ever, but they weren't too bad.

I was hit by a dog driven jeep today... I put groceries in my trunk, got in my car, looked around, and slowly started backing out. Then CRASH! I park, get out of my car and am supprised to find that I'm the only person there. The dog must have knocked the jeep out of gear and the slight incline of the parking lot sent it crashing into me.
