I'm finally all set for the Day of the Dead Art Show!  I bought a table cloth and brought things to stick under it to make the display look better.

 I'm wearing chopsticks that my sister helped me make quite a few years ago.  She made the witch hats for the top, and I painted the sticks!  They make me smile every time I see them.

I am also wearing my cow shirt, it is also pretty awesome because it glows in the dark!

Happy early Halloween to me!  I got a whole slew of necklaces from one of the other Art teachers in the district!

I saw many butterflies on the flower bushes at school when I went to clean up my room a bit today.

 I spent 3 hours setting up my students's artwork for the Day of the Dead Art Show.  I had just about 200 pieces of artwork to set up, which is only represents about a quarter of the amount of students at my school. It was very hard for me to tell them that I couldn't hang everyone's artwork up because I could not take too large of a space at the show because there are other schools participating as well.  I did the very best that I could.  I am going to add a sign that says Diamondback and signs for each grade level as well.

Deb and I went to a really yummy Mexican restaurant for dinner and they had these flowers painted in the bathroom.  I liked them so much I had to take pictures!

I'm excited!!!  But not really, I had a 3.5 hour meeting today and I had to go through the students' artwork for the Day of the Dead Art Show which took 4 more hours after that.  I did not leave the school until 8 pm.

I got tired of waiting for another charm for my bracelet (it's been 16 months since I got the first two) so I got one for myself.  It's not as fancy as the other ones, but it reminds me of the trees when Parth and I were in Boston.  I miss him so much.

These are some of the things I donated for the Harvest Fundraiser at school.  There were also 3 boxes of rainbow crayons.   However, now I am at school until 8:30 tonight.  urgh.

A kindergartner mashed one of my paintbrushes today even after I explained correct paintbrush use to the entire class.

 I got to have a beer with blueberries in it.  It was actually pretty good.

  Parth doesn't like to walk with me.  See, he's way far away down the trail.

The fancy hotel that we stayed in is called The Liberty Hotel and it used to be a jail.  They did some major renovations to it but kept some of the jail elements like some cells in the bar area called The Alibi, the outdoor area is called The Yard, the restaurant is called Clink, and all the the rooms have these door hangers for privacy that have "Solitary" printed on them with a key.

 By the time it was all said and done, Parth and I walked 29,495 steps for a total of 11.6 miles today.

 Parth and I went to the Dallas Arboretum today and we found this crazy multi-monkey ball, it was huge!  That and I wanted to make fun of how silly he looks with all his camera gear that he won't take off when I take a picture of him.

Parth got a Netflix video in the mail today and it came in this cute ghost sleeve.  I think I enjoyed the sleeve better than the movie inside of it: Battleship.

 This is what my classroom looks like when the power goes out from a crazy thunderstorm.  The power came on 45 minutes later (but after the kids got there), so we still had school.
